 I already have a book about making books somewhere. I’ve had it for years but I’ve never actually made anything from it. The hand drawn illustrations, the photography and the general layout never felt quite right, they weren’t particularly inviting. 
Now in it's sixth year, The Of Cabbages & Kings Christmas Market is an established fixture in the Stoke Newington calendar. It returns to Abney Hall this december for a festive weekend with a host of stalls selling some of the best art, fashion, prints, gifts, textiles and product design in London town.

Today we meet Derbyshire based illustrator, Lucy Gell who gains inspiration from her animals and walking in the local park. Character is what drives this illustrator to distraction, taking in all there is to be seen and capturing it in her drawings and etchings.

Gillian Lee Smith
Today we are pleased to meet Scottish artist Gillian Lee Smith. Now based in Nottingham, Gillian went on an artist journey three years ago and decided that her sculptural work had to be put on hold, so she could solely dedicate her time to her paintings. In 2012, she was a featured artist on BBC2’s Show me the Monet and made it through to the final exhibition at The Mall Gallery in London, where her work was sold at auction.
