Finesse Knits at Designers / Makers Market

Drawing on a rich heritage of Scandinavian, English and Scottish knitware, Ulla Cronin's designs reflect her belief that everyday items should be beautifully made, practical and playful, cherished and enjoyed. Ulla's interest in traditional skills and love of natural fibres was formed by her childhood in Finland growing up surrounded by forests, fields and lakes. As a young child she was fascinated by her mother's passion for making things – sewing, knitting and weaving using only natural yarns and fabrics.

Knitwear by Ulla Cronin

'What I love most about designing my knitwear is the excitement of creating a piece in its entirety: from sketching and thinking then selecting the colour of the yarn and its texture, hand-working the fabric on the knitting machine into the desired style and shape and then adding small details into the fabric. My aim is to offer well-designed, beautifully crafted, wearable knitwear in order to bring warmth and joy to its wearer.'
