This Spring, the National Centre for Craft & Design and artsNK celebrate the 250th anniversary of 'Circus in Britain' with a spectacular new show CIRCUS: Performers, Politics and Pop Culture. Join them for a balancing act of live performance and aerial acrobatics, film, photography, circus ephemera and design. A Grand Opening event on Saturday, 28th April kicks off the proceedings with a street parade, live acts, taster sessions, refreshments and so much more!

The stunning DESIRE Jewellery & Silversmithing Fair returns to London from the 2nd - 4th of March. This year's fair will be held at Kensington Town Hall, whilst the previous venue of Chelsea Old Town Hall is being refurbished. The Barbican Shop has announced its first ever season of events, with a series of talks, installations and practical workshops on the theme of making and craftsmanship. Make! - A season of contemporary craft in the Barbican Shop will run from the 17th of March to the 3rd of June 2018, allowing visitors to explore traditional crafts with a contemporary twist, to meet the makers behind some of the shop’s favourite products, and to learn new craft skills in a range of workshops. 
Modern Shows are thrilled to have been asked to show in the Hepworth Gallery's Calder Space. It will be their first pop-up in the North of England and what a way to kick off more shows UK-wide! Expect the usual mix of high-end industrial, Scandinavian, posters and ceramics, as well as some more unusual items gleaned from the era between the 30s and 70s when design was at its most innovative and exciting.
This April, the Suffolk Craft Society and Snape Maltings are collaborating to present craft workshops designed to enable people to experience the wonderful art of making. There will be workshops in paper jewellery, ceramic jewellery, textile art, lino print and felt making. Each day or half day workshop will offer tuition by experienced workshop leaders and crafts people in an easily accessible studio space at Snape Maltings in Suffolk.

Work has begun on the first creative hub in the Highlands. The transformation of former school buildings in Inverness will boost the economy by providing a new home for art, craft and creative business. Members of the arts community have welcomed the project as a “game-changer”. The initial £1.2 million project is the first phase of a wider £5.7 million scheme to transform the Midmills buildings (once part of the Inverness Royal Academy and later Inverness College but now empty) into a new Inverness Creative Academy.
