UK Handmade accepts contributions from artists, designers and crafters for both the blog and the magazine.

The magazine is issued quarterly with a seasonal theme and also features a varied range of articles, business advice, interviews with fellow artists and fun makes and tutorials. If you feel you have something a story, tutorial, event or business that fits in with the UK Handmade ethos please do not hesitate to contact us.

The blog is posted to regularly and we are always looking for people to help the main team find interesting stories and events that are happening round the UK, so if you know of anything happening near you that you think we need to know about get in touch!

Submission Guidelines

We are a design led magazine so require articles that are well written and illustrated with high quality photography. If you wish to submit an idea for an article please send us a brief summary (approx 100 words) of your chosen subject, or if you would like to write with us more regulary we require samples of articles (new or old) along with why you would like to write for us and the type of articles you would like to do.

Please note we recieve a large number of submissions so cannot accept everyone but if your work is well presented and original this will increase your chances. If you are accepted one of the editorial team will give you the relevant word counts and design specifications. We reserve the right to alter any finished articles to fit within the magazine layout and editorial style if necessary.

We do not pay for articles accepted as UK Handmade is run solely by volunteers but we do credit all photography, artwork and articles with full copyright and link to each author's websites and blogs. We reach a wide audience across the UK so it is a good way to be seen and be involved in the new Handmade movement which is becoming an exciting lifestyle and business choice for many people.
