My current work explores the haunting coastal landscape of Hastings Country Park, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. I walk my elegant greyhounds daily, wandering the open vistas of shingle, sand and sea, punctuated by fishermens' shacks, railway carriages, groynes and wild flowers. My gestures of adding, dragging and removing paint imitate the natural world, the tidal ebb and flow, the movement of clouds and wind. I am drawn to desolate places. I also enjoy monoprinting and collage, combining line drawings with textures, inspired by huts, hounds and the plants growing in my orchard.
