My Creative Field:
Printmaker
Biography:

I have been printmaking for a number of years and my practice moves seamlessly between the themes of the domestic interior and abstract designs.

I employ etching techniques in creating images of furniture and interior accessories, fed by my admiration of iconic designers such as Philip Starck, Ray & Charles Eames and Eero Aarnio.

My abstract work is a lively mix of flat colour and textures, produced by printing with found textural materials. Inspiration is drawn from designers and artists such as Lucienne Day and Prunella Clough. I relish the immediacy of making marks with found objects, manipulating them to full effect. Juxtaposed with this are my etchings which, by their nature, require a more step-by-step approach. Often the processes overlap providing truly innovative and exciting work.
