Profile
Background: Armed with an English degree, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant and for many years have worked in large corporates looking at risks to their businesses and how effectively they are managed.
Inspiration: In my 'spare' time I've always been interested in more creative things and a visit to Japan provided the inspiration to channel this into 'myfuroshiki',which I set up with my sister, Olivia. Furoshiki are fabric squares which can be used to wrap gifts, make bags and decorate the home. So simple in themselves, I love how they can be used and reused in so many ways to transform items and enjoy experimenting with screenprinting, sewing and shibori to create them. Happy wrapping indeed!
Materials: Fabrics, old and new, upcycled, recycled, rescued and transformed!
Work for UK Handmade: I am the Finance Director for UK Handmade and occasional contributor to the magazine and blog.
